Privacy
Short version: your video and subtitles never leave your device, and Subwave doesn't track you.
Your files
Subwave runs entirely in your browser. It reads your video and subtitle files where they are on your device, a little at a time, and saves the subtitles to your device. It has no account, no upload and no server of its own for your work.
What stays in your browser
So that nothing is lost, the subtitles you are editing are kept in your browser's storage as you work, with access to the files you opened (where the browser allows it), so they open again after a reload. Thumbnails and the sound's outline may also be kept there. You can clear all of it with your browser's site data.
No tracking
Subwave sends no usage data, uses no analytics and sets no advertising or tracking cookies. Your settings (theme, volume, the subtitle look, the reading rules) are kept in your browser only.
If something goes wrong
When the editor stops on an error, it keeps a short technical report in your browser and offers it the next time, with a button to copy it. It is never sent anywhere.
Hosting
The website and the editor's files are served by Cloudflare. Like any web host, Cloudflare handles the requests your browser makes to download these files. Your files are not part of them.
